Stephen Litel

Minneapolis, MN

Stephen Litel lives in Minnesota and formerly was a sports writer, covering the NBA and WNBA for various publications, including Hoopsworld and SLAM Magazine. About a year ago, I resigned from sports writing to have more of a “normal” life.

A divorced father of two, Ethan and Alexandra (Alex), I split custody of the children with their mother. As of the date of this post, Ethan is 9 and Alex is 8, so they keep me pretty busy and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am never happier than when I am with my babies.

Ethan has been diagnosed with Asperger’s, so there can be some struggles at times, but, as a whole, he does rather well both in school and out. He is my best buddy, claiming he is “going to live with Daddy forever.” Alex is the young girl who loves anything pink, plays softball and is, of course, quite the Daddy’s girl. She is such a caring young girl that sometimes I have to remind her to “be a kid” because she is protective of her big brother.

As for me, I’m kind of quiet and people consistently ask if something is wrong when everything is fine. Most don’t realize my baseline is melancholy, but I’m on a personal quest to change that fact about myself by having new adventures and forcing myself outside of my comfort zone.

Sure, my brain over-thinks these things and that is one of the reasons I started this blog. If I’m feeling these things, I’m sure there are others out there who are feeling the same. Maybe by seeing me succeed at pushing my own limits, I can help people overcome their own fears.

As you can see, there are a lot of topics I can cover in this space and I look forward to sharing my stories with you. I’m also excited to get to know you, my readers, as your lives and stories greatly interest me as well. I don’t want this blog to turn into me speaking at you…I want it to be a conversation between us, so feel free to comment at the bottom of posts and share them on social media (buttons to do so are at the bottom of each post).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back again and again! Tell your friends!
