Self-proclaimed Citizen of the World, born in Venezuela and raised between Caracas, Houston and Montreal. My parents being avid globetrotters, they engrained in me a deep love for travel. My origins are Venezuelan, French and Italian, and I am fully trilingual in Spanish, English and French.
As a child, I had a limitless creativity and an insatiable curiosity. It led me to experiment with dancing, theater, painting, and particularly with film. As of age 7, I began writing amateur scripts and shot film skits with my parent's 90s camcorder, using my cousins and friends as actors. It was always about having fun, about creating and about communicating.
My career path is unique and complex, befitting my curious and adventurous nature and my varied interests. It is also a direct reflection of my upbringing and personal experiences.
Having traveled quite a bit, and having mixed origins, I became fascinated with Sociology and International Relations. In 2005, I completed a French Baccalaureat in Economics and Social Sciences, followed by a B.A. in International Development, with a Minor in Environmental Studies and a Minor in Communications, at McGill University, in 2009, in Montreal.
During my college years in Montreal, I further developed my childhood hobby and passion for Communications, which led me to Journalism. I started by writing for the university journals, and reporting for the local radio station CKUT. Eventually, I freelanced as a Journalist and Reporter for several years, while volunteering at various Nonprofits organizations as a communications specialist; including, the David Suzuki Foundation, Oxfam, and Amnesty International.
In an attempt to incorporate my interests in Sociology, International Relations, Human and Environmental Rights, and Communication, I entered in 2011 the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility. This in turn opened up new opportunities for me. I was hired in 2012 for a position in Public Relations/ Public Affairs, at the communications consulting agency, Newlink Group, in Miami, Florida.
A year later, my career came full circle, as I was lucky enough to step back into the world film, my childhood hobby and first true passion; but this time, in an official way. I am currently finishing an M.F.A. in Film, during which I have been writing and studying human and social behavior, with the hopes of communicating universal ideas and stories.
