For years I've been working on disparate pieces of a healthy lifestyle –food, exercise, yoga, meditation–without a cohesive success. Think lots of yo-yoing, chronic inconsistency and "dabbling." At the beginning of 2012 I decided that I did not want to turn 30 (in 2013) feeling like I had no control over my body or my health. I started learning more about nutrition, doing yoga, taking cross-fit classes and running.
After months of painful running thanks to shin splints, I discovered Chi Running: "a revolutionary approach to effortless, injury-free running." Chi Running is about form and technique but it is also about being mindful, running with intention, and tapping into your ch'i. This philosophy fit perfectly with my burgeoning yoga practice and I decided to start a blog to chronicle the learning process and to hold myself more accountable.
The blog has grown and I am taking on bigger challenges. Follow along as I train for my first half marathon and learn how to run all over again!
