Currently working on a book titled The Physics of Jazz, Stephon Alexander is a physicist with multiple degrees alongside research and teaching experience. Most recently he sat on the faculty at Dartmouth College, where he functioned as an associate professor of physics and astronomy. He previously taught as an associate professor at Haverford College and as an assistant professor at Penn State University, and has been a visiting professor at multiple schools, including Princeton University. Stephon Alexander also gained valuable experience as a postdoctoral researcher for both the Imperial College in London and the SLAC and Institute for Theoretical Physics at Stanford University.

Stephon Alexander studied physics at Haverford College, where he received his bachelor of science, and at the graduate level at Brown University, where he earned two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in physics. Over the course of his career he has earned numerous awards, including the Edward Boucher Award from the American Physical Society and the Rudranath Capildeo National Medal for the Natural Sciences from Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Science and Technology.
