Steph is an investigative journalist specializing in missing persons cases, unsolved murders, cold cases, high-profile crimes, and breaking news. With a career spanning major networks and groundbreaking investigations, Steph has built a reputation as a trusted and reliable source.
Steph began his career at Court TV, producing true crime documentaries before moving into live trial coverage, including the Scott Peterson trial. Steph went on to produce and report for Nancy Grace on HLN, followed by On The Record with Greta Van Susteren at FOX News, and later wrote and produced for ABC’s Good Morning America.
One of Steph’s most significant investigative breakthroughs came in the Drew Peterson case, where his reporting uncovered key documents that led to the reclassification of Kathleen Savio’s death from an accident to a homicide. Following the exhumation and re-examination of Savio’s body, Peterson was charged, tried, and convicted for her murder. Steph filmed the autopsy and testified at trial.
His work has also been featured in a 3-hour CNN series, "Buried Secrets," which highlighted his exclusive reporting on the disappearance and murders of the McStay family in Southern California. He was granted unprecedented access inside the missing family’s home, later confirmed as the crime scene.
In addition to his investigative work, Steph has produced and appeared in multiple true crime documentaries, including ID’s American Murder Mystery: JonBenet, where he interviewed John Mark Karr, the only person ever arrested for JonBenet Ramsey’s murder. He also conducted an exclusive interview with George and Cindy Anthony for American Murder Mystery: Casey Anthony.
Steph has covered high-profile cases such as the Bill Cosby trial for Radar Online,the Aaron Hernandez case, and has appeared on Oxygen Network’s "Notorious", discussing Drew Peterson, Ted Bundy, and Aileen Wuornos. He has also contributed exclusive content and interviews as a Special Correspondent for "Crime Watch Daily" and appeared in Peacock’s "Pathological: The Lies of Joran van der Sloot", sharing his personal experiences with the convicted killer.
