stereo washout

Born awash in the red light of a harvest moon, they emerged fully formed like a Greek God. Stereo Washout materialized in the depths of the Ottawa Valley wilderness with a sound as dramatic as the valley landscape, a sound all their own. Their sound is as soothing as the green summer slopes of the Gatineau hills; as aggressive and abrasive as the rushing rapids of the Ottawa River; as biting as the windswept frozen lakes in Renfrew County; and, as fragile as budding trilliums in springtime snow.

Stereo Washout’s founding members and fronting musicians are Lisa Prince and Craig Pratt. Lisa’s beautiful vocals range from solemn lows to soaring highs and are delivered with an attitude that betrays her love for metal and hard-edged music. Her steady rhythm on the guitar keeps pace with Craig’s aggressive attack and foils his meandering solos. Craig’s winding guitar licks are a marriage of converging influences, from the hexatonic blues scales to the punchy antagonistic picking attack of punk. Backed by their hard hitting drumming Joel Nye, they create well-constructed acoustic songs that are thoughtful in their lyrics and aggressive in their delivery.

Stereo Washout looks to move forward and to continue writing, recording and performing their acoustic mix of profound and forceful songs.
