Steve Garrin is an Author, Producer, Promoter, VO Coach,and the founder of the highly acclaimed VoiceWorks® voiceover workshop. Steve was a member of the Drama Desk nominating committee for the 2014-2015 season.
Steve started in show business in 1986 (working out of Sigma Sound Studios, Phila./NY) as a performer, director, and producer of voiceovers. He then moved on to producing, directing, recording, and editing radio programs and books on tape. His company, VideoActive Productions, (1991-2010) expanded to become a full-service digital audio-video production and post-production house.
Steve was Joe Franklin's Radio Producer (1991-2015).
In 1996 Steve was nominated for a GRAMMY (editor) in the Audio Book Spoken word category. In 1997, Steve won an EMMY Award.
Steve is proficient as a digital editor on the Sonic Studio & Apple Logic Pro Digital audio recording, editing, mixing and CD mastering systems, Media 100 & Final Cut digital video editing systems.
Some of Steve's video editing credits include Behind the Scenes, on George Benson CD, "Absolute Benson", Diana Krall & The London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Steve worked on the "Aristocrats" with Paul Provenza and "Make 'Em Laugh" with Michael Kanter/PBS.
He recorded, directed and edited Broadway legend, Carol Channing reading her autobiography, "Just Lucky, I Guess", A Memoir of Sorts".
Steve has also been a businessman and a sales manager for various leading companies in the restaurant and hotel industry.
He was a licensing partner of Joe Franklin's Memory Lane Restaurant in Times Square, (Later to become Joe Franklin's Comedy Club) along with operating partner, Dennis Riese of the Riese Organization. He produced a successful 14 month run of "Vince Giordano and His Nighthawks Orchestra on Broadway", (GRAMMY Award winners, HBO's Boardwalk Empire).
Steve produced Rock concert events with his long time friend and associate, Steven Van Zandt in NYC and Las Vegas. Steve is a voting member of NARAS, NATAS, SAG & AFTRA.
