I believe that risks can yield great outcomes, but great outcomes are not produced without the risk. We all face a crossroads at several points during our life’s journey--one path that leads to the predicted outcome and the other that empties into the complete unknown. I have faced several of these crucial scenarios where I have learned to take calculated and strategic risks at key moments that have yielded enormous outcomes.
For 14 years I developed and grew my own businesses in Montreal, Canada. I engaged in every aspect of entrepreneurial life: development, customer service, supplier relations, human resources, cash flow management, project management, sales and finding money, and more money, to finance the growth. My specialty was to make anything and everything happen with the limited resources at my disposal. I harnessed the energy and channeled the talents of my team to bring many projects to fruition.
I learned a great deal during these days. I honed and developed my managerial and leadership skills, but most importantly, I learned how to survive. And I survived because I have always been willing to jump and take that leap of faith in both my professional and personal life.
Taking that leap of faith in my personal life led to parting ways with my businesses in Canada and starting an entirely new phase of my life with my wife, Amy. In September 2010, I married and moved to Boston, MA to begin our new life. On September 18, 2013 we welcomed our daughter, Elodie Irene Ahn into our lives. We are determined to forge and continue a new path, but now as a family.
