Steve Badgett is an accomplished Social Worker (MSW) and aspiring New Media Journalist. Steve completed his undergraduate degree at Arizona State University and went on to complete his Master of Social Work degree at the University of Southern California (USC). While attending USC, Steve earned the distinction of being selected as a social worker for the California Sate Assembly, 44th District. Steve worked with a local legislator to identify gaps in social policy and improve “wrap around” services for those affected by homelessness.
Steve is currently completing his New Media of Journalism Master of Arts degree at Full Sail University. Steve considers the Internet to be one of the greatest platforms for creating awareness of social issues, on a global scale. His work for his journalism degree has recently focused on sexually explicit Internet media and its impacts on adolescent behavior. Steve is the proud father of three beautiful children and has grown increasingly concerned by the lack of safeguards to protect children from graphic online content.
In addition to his passion for social justice, Steve is an avid sports fan and regularly competes in online fantasy sports. Steve has won a league championship in every online fantasy sport, including fantasy football, which he has currently been crowned league champion for the past four years in a row. Steve advocates for participation in sports and hobbies as an effective way to cultivate friendships and enjoy the camaraderie of competition.
