Steve Hill saw the need for a shop that carried an assortment of SUPs. There was not anyone in the panhandle of Florida with any kind of paddleboard selection and no one had any demos. With the concept of providing paddleboards for everyone from the beginner to surf paddlers and racers, Steve set out to select the top brands to carry in the GUSU shop. Global Surf Industries offered a great line of boards that were durable and user friendly. With proven names like NSP, McTavish, Walden, 7’s, and Southpoint, Steve launched the 09 season.

In the winter of '09 GUSU race team led by Matt McDonald and Travis Roach, went in search of the ultimate race board and with the help of Bob Reed got 3 Ohana 12’6” race boards. Fast and light and state of the art Ohana Boards offered all the team was looking for. At the Cold Stroke Classic in Wilmington South Carolina, Steve was introduced to Tahoe SUPs and soon added the line to cover touring boards. Trying to cover all of the aspects of the sport South County was added; capable of supporting someone up to 350 lbs and able to surf with the best of them. The Jimmy Lewis line was added after co-sponsoring a demo. They offer a variety of surf style boards and the fast and versatile Slice. The Summer of 2012 GUSU was at it again, adding top name brands in the industry Fanatic, BOGA, 404, Riviera, and Ron House to the lineup. GUSU also carries top paddle brands like Quickblade and Kialoa to give customers the best quality equipment on the market.
