About 15 years ago I realized I’d rather be that kid that plays outside, than be the kid who sits inside all day playing Xbox. Looking back to my childhood I realized that I have always had a personal connection with nature and the outdoors. This connection with nature has led me to the working field of the green industry. I grew up working for a local farmer and numerous landscape companies around town. It wasn’t till half way through high school that I got my first job on a golf course. I immediately knew this was for me. I enjoyed waking up early, seeing the sunrise and listening to nature. As time went on I began to think, I’m really good at this.
Five years later I have worked on 4 different golf courses and one NFL stadium. I guess it’s safe to say that I have really found what I love to do. The best part about my job is being outside all day long, rain or shine. My long term goal for this industry is to be a golf course superintendent. I don’t know where life will take me but I know it will not be behind a desk in an office.
Along with working outdoors I love to enjoy nature. In my spare time I like to mountain bike, snow board and dirt bike. Those are only a few things I enjoy but there’s a good chance that if it’s an extreme sport then I’m all about it. I have come to realize that the outdoors is where I belong. The best part about my life is I get to enjoy nature every day!
