Steve Moyer

An accomplished investment professional, Steve Moyer is the founder and president of Distressed Debt Alpha. Moyer developed his expertise with distressed debt through positions with several internationally recognized companies, including as a portfolio manager with fixed-income specialist PIMCO of Newport Beach, California. At PIMCO, he had comprehensive involvement, including strategic design, marketing, staffing and implementation, for a private-equity structured fund that identified corporate middle-market distressed investment opportunities. During Steve Moyer’s tenure the fund's returns to investors outperformed benchmarks.

Before taking up his current responsibilities, Steve Moyer spent three years as a director with Tennenbaum Capital Partners, LLC, in Santa Monica, California, where he worked closely with the multi-strategy hedge fund and the private-equity structured credit opportunities funds. Prior to his work with Tennenbaum, Moyer augmented his high-yield and equity analysis skills through leadership positions with Imperial Capital, LLC, where he directed research activities of a 10-person team, and Bank of America Securities, Inc., where he analyzed the specialty finance and other markets.
