Lead guitarist for Sacramento Americana band The Nickel Slots, stay at home dad, and freelance graphic designer/consultant. Part time lecturer at C.S.U.S. Graphic Design program.

I am a guitar fanatic, Mac enthusiast & coffee snob. Owen and Julia's father & Annie's husband. I love being a dad and my wife is the real rock star in our family. I enjoy traveling with my family and my band. I have visited Spain, England, Italy, Mexico, and the Benelux. My family has European roots, my mother was born in Spain and my father is Portuguese.

I love being a guitar player and a graphic designer, the two disciplines allow me to enjoying being creative all day long.

My band The Nickel Slots continues to create original music that lands in the Americana/Rock and Roll camp. We are on iTunes, Spotify and Pandora. If you like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash with a little dash of the Clash, then you should enjoy The Nickel Slots.

I've been playing guitar for many years. I enjoy playing Reverend and Gibson electric guitars. I'm inspired and influenced by some of the greats including Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Mike Campbell, Chuck Berry, John Fogerty, The Edge, Eddie Van Halen, George Harrison, Angus Young, Don Rich, Prince and my father Dennis Amaral.

I enjoy being a graphic designer. Some of my favorite graphic designers are Malcolm Grear, Charles and Ray Eames, David Carson, Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister, Paul Rand, and Saul Bass.

Lets talk about guitars and design!
