Steve Amoils MD
Offering patients a unique background, Dr. Steve Amoils received formal medical training in South Africa, England, and the United States. Dr. Amoils earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in Johannesburg and completed an internship at Hillbrow Hospital. After functioning as a Senior House Officer in Orthopedics at Hillbrow, Dr. Steve Amoils traveled to London, where he fulfilled different positions at various hospitals. In 1987, Dr. Amoils worked with spinal cord injury patients at the Walker Institute in California, then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he completed a family medicine residency. Next, he began a private practice in Loveland, Ohio. Nine years later, Dr. Steve Amoils and his wife, Dr. Sandi Amoils, established the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine, where they jointly serve as medical directors today. Between 1984 and 1985, the couple spent two years traveling around the world,studying the effects of a broad range of alternative therapies. They spent time with psychic surgeons, acupuncturists, Ayurvedic and Tibetan Medicine physicians, shamans, and various healers, learning about indigenous medicine healing techniques. Dr. Amoils also studied acupuncture at the Oriental Research Center in Osaka, Japan; energy healing at the Healing Light Center, LLC in Glendale, California; and acupuncture at the Helms Medical Acupuncture Program through the University of California, Los Angeles. Well-equipped to manage an integrative medicine practice, Dr. Steve Amoils and his wife, Dr. Sandi Amoils founded the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine in order to provide Cincinnati-area residents with a combination of traditional medicine and other evidence-based healing therapies to treat patients’ entire being rather than just their conditions. Dr. Steve Amoils and his staff at the Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine provide clients with acupuncture, energy healing, therapeutic massage, stress reduction techniques, and frequency specific microcurrent, which treats muscle and nerve pain. The Alliance Institute for Integrative Medicine treats a variety of health issues, including allergies, depression, headaches,back pain and fibromyalgia. Dr. Amoils also established the Ohio chapter of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture and now serves as President.
