Steve Bennis
Steve Bennis epitomizes the American Dream. He immigrated to the United States 15 years ago, recognizing that America is the land of opportunity. He knew that, if he truly applied himself, he could reap the rewards of this country’s great bounty. Availing himself of our unparalleled educational system, Bennis put his nose to the proverbial grindstone, working three jobs in order to put himself through school. The result? He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina in just three years.
But, like many who have a natural curiosity and a love of learning, an undergraduate degree wasn’t enough for Bennis. He went on to receive an M.S. in engineering. Next up? An M.B.A. Bennis earned a scholarship at Missouri State University, where he received that degree. Still, Bennis felt that there was more to learn, which is why he applied to the world-renowned Thunderbird School of Global Management. For the past 12 years, Thunderbird has ranked first in international business. Everyone from kings and prime ministers to presidents and secretaries of state send their children to Thunderbird for a top-notch education. Bennis worked hard and, once again, succeeded.
Yet although Steve Bennis now held multiple degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Management, had traveled around the world and was fluent in seven languages, he felt that life wasn’t worth living. Why? Because, in the process, he had lost 90 percent of his hair. Living in a society that places as much – if not more – emphasis on appearance as it does on excellence, Steve Bennis deeply felt the devastation that comes with not measuring up. In a sense, all of his academic and personal achievements took a back burner to his hair loss.
The success of Steve Bennis’ approach to developing a natural system for hair re-growth is noteworthy in and of itself. But, when taken together with his personal journey of transforming his personal struggle with hair loss into a successful business, it represents both personal and professional triumph that epitomizes the American Dream.
