An educator with experience in California’s Silicon Valley, Steve Betando got his professional start as a classroom teacher in the Franklin-McKinley School District in San Jose. After five years, he relocated to Central Valley, where he served in a series of positions, including instructor, and vice-principal in the Salida Union School District, then principal, and assistant superintendent, in the Stanislaus Union School District.

Mr. Betando subsequently returned to the San Jose area, where he accepted a position as an assistant superintendent in the Fremont Unified School District. He later joined the Morgan Hill Unified School District as an interim assistant superintendent. Since 2013, he has served as the superintendent of this school district in Morgan Hill, California.

An active member of his community, Steve Betando is involved in the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill. He is also a member of the ecological organization called Green Foothills in Santa Clara County and San Mateo County, California.
