Steve Fischer

Rockport, Texas

I ran for the State Bar Board of Directors after being insulted by the Bar Referendum in 2010-1. I want a supportive bar that has our backs when Attorneys are attacked and at least issues a statement. Instead our bar appeases our detractors by mandating more costs, rules and obligations.

I am presently a Texas State Bar Director. I serve on several committees such as Texas Bar Journal Board of Editors and Vice Chair of the commitee seeking affordable health care.

I've practiced in El Paso, Denton, Odessa, Huntsville and the Rio Grande Valley. I was elected as Willacy County District Attorney in the late 80's, and served as Aransas County Independent School Board Trustee. I was also President of the Aransas County Bar Association.

I also have an interest in helping animals and have a wildlife reserve of sorts on Lake Corpus Christi.
