Games are how we learn, as children, about the ebb and flow of life; about gracious losing as well as humble winning, and the concepts of fairness and sportsmanship. As we grow, we (hopefully) progress to more sophistication in our games, deeper meanings, and themes meant to spur debate and expand one's mind. To lose the ability to game, and pretend, to play and enjoy as would a child, is a great loss indeed.

As for me...I have almost 40 years of tabletop warfare, RPG, and board/dice/card game experience to my name, with extensive experience in adventure and rule construction. I am well-read in Gamification, and am currently studying Development of Games for Learning, and Introduction to Game Design at MITx. I also have studied strategy, philosophy and game theory for nearly 30 years.
