I'm 30 years into a career that could loosely be characterised as communications. I've been a journalist, a city hall press officer, and a public relations consultant. I spent three years with Voluntary Services Overseas in Vietnam and Cameroon.

I couldn't stay away from Vietnam. I returned and worked editing an English-language newspaper before becoming the British Council's Head of Marketing and Communications. Later, I joined Animals Asia, eventually becoming their Global Head of Comms.

After 15 years in Hanoi, I came back to the UK in 2021. I work for good people in a nice office in Newcastle (message me if you'd like to join us) - we do PR, content, design, digital etc.

I'm also a solo, frequently struggling, dad of an eight-year-old daughter. She's smarter, braver and more resilient than I'll ever be.
