Steve Jorgensen

I’d like to introduce myself

My name is Steve Jorgensen and I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where I received a Bachelors Degree in Communication Technologies and a minor in Imaging Media. While in college I quickly became involved with the University Radio Station WSUP and my passion for communications, technology and events grew exponentially.

During my 4 years, at the radio station I took on many roles. As the stations Music Critic I was responsible for selecting the music played on the station. As part of the technical operations team I repaired, maintained and upgraded software and hardware that was used in the day-to-day operations. In my second year I was promoted to Assistant manager of the station where I developed more knowledge about technical operations, public relations, live promotions, and on-site events such as supporting blood donations with the American Red Cross (which had over 600 participants).

After college I moved to Florida to pursue a career in events and was fortunate enough to get an internship with the Festival Disney program. In my internship I was responsible for working with internal partners and external clients to organize and execute on property music competitions. Working with and being flexible with Disney partners, Band/Choir Directors, and 100s of high school students on a daily basis has taught me how to operationally develop a process for a successful events and communicate effectively.

Currently I am employed with two companies: Cosi and High Energy DJs. At Cosi in my role as a Manager, I am the first impression that our company gives to a customer. I handle monetary transactions, control inventory, market our company to surrounding businessess, and do my part to keep the restaurant clean. In my job with High Energy DJs, I am expected to ensure that all of my patrons are having the most fun possible as well as staying within my contracted obligations for each specific event.
