Steve travelled to Calcutta, India when he was nineteen and observed the million people living on the street in 1985. After he returned to Orange County, CA on Christmas Day, he would never be the same. Eventually, he and his wife Diane settled down to listen to and help the homeless in Portland, OR. He is the founder and pastor of Anawim Christian Community, a community church of the homeless, writes practical theology, takes photos and hangs out with his children.
