My professional background is ~40 years in IT/Software Engineering, Product Management & Project/Program Management. Large corporates, tech companies, small and large tech startups. Media. My approach is about team members being leaders themselves, not blind followers, expecting to be told what to do or to be motivated through external drivers.

In my Uni Masters work in Educational Psychology, I have developed a strong understanding of the creative process as an ordinary one, coupled with very hard persistent work. I have defined the concept of 'meta-transfer', a cognitive mechanism where we consciously think about choosing, then using 'transfer of knowledge' - or 'thinking about transfer'. An example of knowledge transfer is analogical reasoning to create 'mental/creative leaps', metaphor is another. Watson & Crick used this in discovering the double helix for DNA. Meta-transfer therefore is about making a decision about which type of knowledge transfer approach to use and also having the awareness that we can do this.
