Steven Bell

Steven Kenneth Bell has an impressive background in both education and work experience that attest to his work-ethic and determination to succeed. He studied advertising at the University of Florida and graduated with a bachelor's degree. He then matriculated into law school at Nova Southeastern University's Sheppard Broad Law Center, where he rigorously applied himself to his studies.

While pursuing his law degree, Steven worked as a Supreme Court Certified Legal Intern with the Broward County Public Defender's Office, which allowed him to gain experience handling both misdemeanor and felony cases before even graduating. In 2004, he graduated with his juris doctor in the top 3 percent of his class.

After the successful completion of his internship at the Broward Public Defender's Office, Steven entered a position as an Assistant Public Defender and earned recognition from the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers during this time. Within his first year he rose to a leader of several felony divisions, and was quickly placed over the department of Juvenile Defense. Throughout his years in these roles, he defended hundreds of clients across Florida who faced a wide range of both misdemeanors and felonies.

In 2007, Steven moved into private practice, and during 2008 he was placed in charge of the legal operations of The Ticket Clinic, a private practice focusing on traffic offenses in Palm Beach County. In this capacity, he represented clients facing both minor and serious traffic violations and gained experience taking many cases through jury trials.

Steven first met his law partner, Lawrence Meltzer, in 2005 in his position as an Assistant Public Defender. The two co-founded Meltzer and Bell, P.A. in 2013, where they currently serve those facing challenging situations such as DUI charges, white collar crimes and violent offenses throughout the Palm Beach County and Broward County areas.

As an active member of the legal community, Steven stays up to date on current issues and shares his knowledge as a member of several organizations, including the National Advocacy for DUI Defense, the Southern District of the Federal Bar, and the Florida Association of Criminal Lawyers.
