Steven Churchill

I am a Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology at Duke University (in Durham, North Carolina, USA), and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for the Exploration of the Deep Human Journey at the University of the Witwatersrand (in Johannesburg, South Africa). I study adaptive evolution in our lineage (focusing on the last two million years), and am the author of the book Thin on the Ground: Neandertal Biology, Archeology, and Ecology.
