I was born and raised in New Jersey as a multi-ethnic child of American and Colombian heritage. In my youth in the 1990's, I saw the state evolve from the lush, green Garden State that was home to Thomas Edison's transformative technology, to one challenged by the effects of electronic waste and population growth. Through my connection to my mother's native region of Central America, I have acquired a unique perspective on the world which fueled my passion for sustainable development and the issue of electronic waste.

My life's journey have taken me from Latin America, to Africa and Europe, and now Silicon Valley, the epicenter of the conversation of electronic waste. I'm was an NGO Observer at the 15th Conference of Parties in Copenhagen, Denmark, and participated in the 17th Conference of Parties in Durban, South Africa under directive of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. My research supported Konrad von Ritter of the World Bank.

Earlier in my life, I've been a part of numbers initiatives related to environment, including Powershift a national summit on Global Warming; Let’s Raise A Million (LRAM) an Atlanta-based environmental initiative
