Born a Southerner - a Londoner - I grew up in Northern England, two regions with two very different mindsets. This is never a drawback in any field, but particularly in my line of business where it is vital to appreciate the advantage of a soft sell or seize the right moment for a hard sell.

Nevertheless, northern grit comes to the fore in my refusal ever to take No for an answer.

I am an advocate of Positive Mental Attitude, which holds that an optimistic disposition in every situation attracts positive change and brings success.
