Steven Gorkin

All the successes and failures in my life can be linked to how much I desired to achieve a certain goal. I am a firm believer that I can achieve almost anything I put my mind to--no matter how daunting the task may seem at first. I try to live my life from one moment to the next, attempting to make my current activity the most important thing in my life. I take pride in my ability to use this outlook to motivate others and to work with a team. My passion and dedication to entities larger than myself makes me intrinsically motivated and highly capable of sacrificing for the greater good of my team. My social skills complement this and allow me to solve problems between team members and act as an approachable leader who takes initiative to get things done.

My name is Steven Gorkin and I am from a small town in south-western Connecticut called Weston. Currently, I am a freshmen at the Kelley School of Business with a double major in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. In high school, I was highly involved competing as captain of the bootball team, and a leader on the indoor track, and baseball teams. I was an All-Western Region baritone Saxophone Player and a member of my high school's wind ensemble and jazz band. Academics were highly important to me as I achieved a 3.9 GPA in all honors/ AP classes and was apart of the National Honor Society.

At Indiana University I am currently a part of the Kelley Living Learning Center and am involved in many clubs and organizations across campus. I served as captain of my floor's intramural volleyball team and regularly attend KLLC and floor events. I am a general member of the Kelley Hospitality club. In addition, I am a member of Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization where I am on the CyberDust committee. In the American Marketing Association, I am on the Communications Committee. In the future, I hope to find internships that relate to my interest in marketing--hopefully something to do with brand management or advertising. I will use my skills and high involvment to make important contributions for the company that I work for.
