Steven Kallestad

Student, Instrumentalist, and Artist in Huntington Beach

My goal in the future is to help shape the world of music, by introducing brass instruments further into popular media. In the future, I would like to go into music as a career path, with me studying music in higher education. In the future, I would like to attend either Orange Coast College or Chapman University. I would describe myself in two words, patient and adaptable. In all cases, I strive to achieve the best possible result. Due to a combination of these traits, I can clearly define who I am as a person, as someone who wishes to help myself and others. In the past, I have developed many skills, with music standing out among them. Having played baritone and euphonium for nearly a decade, I have a wealth of information and experience regarding them. Specific performances in which I have participated include Titanic a New Musical, The Pajama Game, HBUHSD District Honor Band(2021), and more. Alongside performances, various classes stand out regarding my experience, including HBHS Marching Band, HBHS Wind Ensemble, APA Orchestra, AP Music theory, and HBHS Jazz Ensemble. While there are many musical skills, I have a deep involvement in psychology. I have always had a deep interest in the inner workings of the mind. While I had acted as a therapist for my friends in the past, I understand most trauma others undergo. This understanding has helped both myself, and my community.
