Steven Oakes

Steve grew up on a small family farm in northeastern North Dakota. His family raised sugarbeets (a really sweet big beet), wheat, barley, and soybeans. He is married and has 2 young children. Steve has a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from North Dako...ta State University Fargo (like the movie)and also attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo to receive a Master’s of Public Administration. He has held and experienced unique positions from: Disney Wide World of Sports, Wilderness Canoe Base, YMCA of the USA, and Thrivent Financial. Steve spends his spare time outside preferably on the water, and can’t wait until his kids are old enough to go and really rough it in the majestic Boundary Waters of Minnesota.
