Steven Bailey

System Safety Engineer in Florida

Hello, I’m Steven. I am an Air Force veteran that retired from active duty in 2018 with 20 years of service. My specialty in the Air Force was Explosive Ordnance Disposal. My duties consisted primarily of rendering safe and disposing of military ordnance and improvised explosive devices. During my last assignment in the Air Force, I provided hands-on technical support to the research, development, testing, and evaluation mission of the 96th Test Wing. After retiring from the Air Force, I spent a year with a non-profit supporting technology transfer as an Innovation and Collaboration Principal facilitating workshops and technology design sprints. In April 2019, I took on the role of system safety engineer for the Air Force Research Laboratory, Munitions Directorate.

My EOD career has granted me the ability to quickly learn skills and innovatively apply them to solve wicked problems.

My bachelor's degree is in Mathematics; however, I recently started studying Systems Engineering. I will be finishing Georgia Institute of Technology’s Professional Master’s in Applied Systems Engineering program this summer.

My posts are for my own use and represent nothing and nobody in particular.
