Throughout his career, pediatrician Steven Abelowitz, M.D. has maintained involvement in a vast array of academic, professional, charitable, and personal endeavors, with a strong record of commitment to each of his interests. After graduating top of his class from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem-Hadassah Medical School in 1994, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. entered into an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) Medical Center. Over the next four years, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. furthered his expertise as a pediatric physician at UC Irvine Medical Center, ultimately gaining recognition as “Resident of the Year.” An entrepreneur at heart, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. established Newport Children’s Medical Group shortly after completing his residency and performed as President and Medical Director from 1998 through 2001. Following this, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. chose to begin a new Orange County pediatric enterprise, Coastal Kids. He serves as CEO, President, and Medical Director of the center to this day. Holding affiliations with Mission Hospital (Mission Viejo), Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center-Laguna Hills, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. also acts as an attendant at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, where he has received multiple nominations as Chair of the Pediatric Department and earned “Doctor of the Month,” the first pediatrician to win this honor. A teacher as well as a practicing pediatrician, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. functions as an Adjunct Faculty at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. In addition, Steven Abelowitz, M.D. has shared his expertise as a contributor to the Orange County Register’s “Ask the Doctors” column, MSNBC’s “Dr. Nancy,” KABC-TV, and the Los Angeles Times. Dr. Steven Abelowitz, M.D. holds memberships with the Orange County Medical Association (OCMA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
