I have been teaching EFL since 1996. I began my career teaching in the Czech Republic but in 2000 I returned to my native UK to work at the School of English Studies (SES), Folkestone, Kent (where I still currently teach). Working with ESOL students on CALL programmes enabled me to explore the possibilities of so-called Blended learning. SES made an investment in teaching technology and became one of the first private EFL schools to acquire an interactive whiteboard. Being quite technologically minded I soon relished the opportunity to develop my own teaching materials and to explore how to use the IWB most effectively in an EFL class.
Now I am interested in exploring the use of Ipads, tablets and smartphones in class. Recent action research has been based on using smart devices as virtual response systems.
