Steven Kaufman
Steven Kaufman, of Lexington, Massachusetts, enjoys a fast-paced professional life in the technology field, and he has acted in senior-level positions for numerous companies involved in the industry. Presently he works as an operating partner with Riverside Partners, LLC, a private equity firm located in Boston. He has served on the boards of multiple investments, including Sixnet, MaxVision, Vocolect, Quantum Medical Imaging, Alteris Renewables, and NDS Surgical Imaging.
Previously, Steven Kaufman served Lucent Technologies (now Alcatel-Lucent) in its Allentown, Pennsylvania, Murray Hill, NJ, and Westford, Massachusetts, locations. As General Manager of Consumer Microelectronics, he grew the consumer electronics IC business for Lucent, increasing sales by $20 million, winning major new accounts, and tripling profits. Later when he was promoted to President of the Multiservice Core Networks division for Lucent, Steven Kaufman managed a $2 billion business division of 1,500 employees. This was composed of four business units that grew from multiple acquisitions by Lucent of companies previously known as Cascade Technologies, Yurie Systems, Sahara Networks, and Nexabit Networks. Under Steven Kaufman's leadership, the business attained the number one position worldwide in the multiservice switching market.
Steven Kaufman attended Brown University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation from Brown, he entered Harvard Business School, where he obtained his Master of Business Administration and graduated with distinction. In addition, Steven Kaufman also attended Stanford University, where he earned his Master of Science in Computer Science. Steven Kaufman holds seven US patents in the data communications field.
