Steven Raga

Steven Raga works with Asian Pacific Islander American community-based organizations and institutions, spanning across the issues of US Immigration Reform, Filipino American WWII Veterans Equity, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)'s Rights, Good Governance and more.
Currently, he is serving as the founding National Chairman for Filipino American Civic Engagement (FACE) and as Executive Director for Region 1 of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA). He is also on the Board of Directors for the Filipino Children's Fund, who work to improve the livelihood of impoverished families in the Philippines.
Most recently, he was the Founding President for Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro), where he served as Executive Director until August of 2011. In 2009, he worked on the Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)'s national implementation in Egypt with the New Women Foundation in Cairo, where they finalized a report for the United Nations concerning domestic compliance of Women's Rights
As a student, Steven was a Program Fellow at Cornell Law School for the Clarke Initiative for Law and Development in the Middle East & North Africa and a Legal Research Assistant at the Avon Global Center for Women and Justice until 2010. He was the Co-President of the Society for Asian American Graduate Affairs (SAAGA) and an active member of Asian Pacific Americans for Action (APAA) at Cornell University. Steven was also the National Chairman for Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue Inc. (FIND) and the President of the Philippine United Student Organization (PUSO) at Stony Brook University. He holds an M.A. in International Human Rights Law from the American University in Cairo and an M.A. in Public Policy from Stony Brook University.
