Hi, I'm Sarah and I am a Connecticut-based designer, artist, technologist, and educator. I am currently a Senior Critic and the Assistant Dean for Communications and Digital Media at the Yale School of Art. I formulate the school’s media and communications strategy as well as oversees the Digital Technology Office which manages printing, computer labs, educational software, digital fabrication, technical support and training, as well as digital equipment loans. In addition to teaching technical training, I co-teach an undergraduate seminar called “Art of the Game” which explores interactive narratives through game, video-gaming, and play. Formally trained in graphic design, I have sought out ways to combine art and design with technology throughout my career, and am currently exploring virtual reality and augmented reality as a tool for both artists and technologists. Before coming to the Yale School of Art, I worked with several Yale organizations, including five years with the Yale School of Drama/Yale Repertory Theatre where I was most recently Director of Technology, Media, and Web Services. I hold a B.F.A in Graphic Design from Paier College of Art, and an M.A. in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology from the UConn Neag School of Education.
