Steven Saus has spent more than twenty years working in medical imaging and nuclear medicine, in both the U.S. Army and civilian healthcare. Along the way, he has trained and supervised clinical staff and students, developed tools and workflows for medical imaging systems, and accumulated an unreasonable amount of experience persuading aging computers to do useful things.

He earned a Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science in 2011 and has conducted, presented, and taught research in sociology, behavioral science, and related fields. He has taught research methods at the collegiate level, worked professionally in media and policy analysis, and written technical material for audiences ranging from clinicians to executives.

Outside of healthcare and research, he has written fiction and nonfiction, edited and published books, operated an independent publishing company, organized literary programming, and contributed code, documentation, and assorted problem-solving to open-source computing projects. He has also successfully rented virtual apartments for real money, which remains one of the stranger entries on his résumé.
