Steven Zuckerman
Steven Zuckerman is a two-time Grammy Award-winning Producerwho is best known as the creator of"Les Paul and Friends (American Made, World Played")for which he creatd for his innovator and inventor friend, Les Paul for his 90th birthday.
The production of arts and media projects (events, motion pictures, festivals, conferences, expositions,) is a wonderful experience, an experience not for everyone. In many and most cases, one starts with the idea and a team and for process is more than heartbreaking most of the times. Most projects don't see the light of day for one reason or another, and most of the times it's either a financing issue or team issue. No matter what, no matter what heartbreak or heartache, one must find the way to move on and create something new. After all, Thomas Edison had over 10,000 failed experiments before he finally figured out the formula for the incandescent light bulb. He finally found a reason to stop failing. As any successful producer can tell you, every journey is different and the timing is crucial if not critical. For every successful project there are dozens of unrealized projects.
He is also the creator and founder of the1999-2001 New York Music and Internet Expo (s) where he created events dedicated to enabling artists to balance creative control of their projects and financial success. These expositions and conferences were held in New York City on March6-7, 1999; March 3-4-5, 2001 and April 13,14, 2001.
Disillusioned with the state of art and media in America and through creative differences with the corporation that purchased his company, after three years of producing the expo, he left the company he started only to create and produce GEMS: The Global Entertainment and Media Summitfor five years.
Mr. Zuckerman went on to produce the Les Paul tribute CD only to discover that after its release, and after winning two Grammy's, executives at EMI Records had either resigned or terminated. As of this writing, EMI has still failed to provide an accounting of the records sales and payments to talent involved.
Mr. Zuckerman also served as the Co-Executive Producer of "When Comedy Went to School"a feature documentary about the Catskill Comics. The motion picture features Jerry Lewis, Robert Klein, Syd Caeser and many others who honed their craft in "The Borsct Belt."
Mr. Zuckerman resides in the Swiss Alps and loves its scenery.
