I've been playing bass since I was 15. I'd been wanting a bass since I was about 10 ever since deciding the bassist was always the coolest guy in the band from watching guys like Duff McKagan, John Taylor, Nikki Sixx, Michael Anthony & Gene Simmons... Wearing tight red leather trousers, covered in fake blood and setting fire to your bass are definite prerequisites for being a cool as fu*k bassist. Boobs were a massive influence on my bass playing getting better, I joined a band, the bass was an instant chick magnet. The rest is history, I married a model and I'm still playing bass, aces!
