Steve Simon has been passionate about documenting the beauty and drama of the human condition with his Nikon cameras his entire photographic life.

The author of five-critically acclaimed photography books with works in major museum collections around the world, he has had solo shows in New York, Buenos Aires, Toronto and Montreal and his work has been featured three times at the Visa Pour L’Image Photojournalism Festival in Perpignan, France.

He is on the faculty of the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York and is a contributing photographer for The Digital Journalist.

International awards include: Art Director’s Club of New York, The Canadian Newspaper Photographer of The Year, Global Health Council Photography Award for his work on AIDS in Africa, Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award Nomination, PX3. He has lectured and lead workshops all over the world including PhotoPlus Expo, the Mentor Series Egypt, New Orleans, New York and Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai, and MacWorld San Francisco. He was contract photographer for the Canadian Olympic Committee where he covered the 2010 Olympics and ParaOlympics in Vancouver for the book, With Glowing Hearts, the official book of the games.

He is a member of the San Disk Extreme Team and moderator for the Nikon Digital Learning Center on flickr. Corporate clients include Nikon and Apple. His new book The Passionate Photographer was chosen one of Amazon’s Top Ten Arts and Photography books. He can frequently be heard as a contributing host on the popular podcast This Week In Photography (TWIP).
