Serving as Chief Executive Officer of Neurovision Imaging, Inc. in Sacramento, Steve Verdooner draws on a quarter-century of experience in the medical device and ophthalmology sectors. He and his team work on developing next-generation retinal imaging technologies that provide solutions for Alzheimer’s disease. Since 2010, Steve Verdooner has led the innovation-driven company and has recently secured an initial close of $11.2 million of Series C financing.

Mr. Verdooner’s industry background includes co-founding Ophthalmic Imaging Systems in 1985, a company that developed and marketed informatics software and imaging solutions. Guiding the firm’s 1992 IPO, he led the company as CEO and was able to grow the company into a market leader.

Mr. Verdooner left the company in 2007 to oversee the strategic instrumentation business operations for Opko Health, Inc., and the following year, established Ocular Development, LLC with an emphasis on developing and bringing to market new ophthalmic devices. Mr. Verdooner holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of California, Davis.
