Stewart French
London, United Kingdom.
I began my career as a Cambridge mathematician and M&A investment banker at Lazard before deciding to study classical guitar. Two years later I graduated top of my year from the Royal Academy of Music's, receiving the DipRAM alongside Milos Karadaglic.
During 2012-14 I toured as soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ending with a sold-out concert at London's Royal Albert Hall. I have been broadcast on BBC Radio and Classic FM, including Radio3's Boxing Day breakfast show with Suzy Klein and James May. I have worked with most of the major classical labels, and have albums with Harmonia Mundi USA, Naxos and Draft.
I've made music with John Rutter, Tarik O'Regan, Paul Hillier, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The National Chamber Choir, Dame Felicity Palmer, Iestyn Davies, Chroma Ensemble, Jeremy Huw-Williams and Alan Clayton. I've also edited works for Oxford University Press and Novello.
I'm currently writing my first book and run a recording consultancy and research firm mydraft.io.
