Stewart Spaull is the author of Steps In The Shadows, a crime fiction book set in Manchester. It is the first in the Northern Quartet featuring Detective Inspector Molyneux.

He is also writing the biography of jazz guitarist Gary Boyle, whose fifty-plus-year career as a professional musician has seen him work with artists such as Dusty Springfield, Brian Auger, Bert Jansch and Hugh Hopper.
