A positive school culture is essential. Students now more than ever are harder to educate and motivate. Schools have gotten away from having a cool, positive vibe where the school community (teachers, students, parents, etc) works together for a common goal/cause. A school culture can be the single factor that determines future change. Enter Me.
My goal is to take a deeper look at school culture best practices. How can a school work to its maximum efficiency while everyone remaining happy and positive? I want to figure out the best way manage the factors and elements that affect school culture.
My name is Steve Hayden. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelors degree in Consumer Science. I always loved the idea of working in business and all it had to offer. I took a sales position selling building products all over Florida for three years. After my brief stint in the business world I had a change of heart and decided to pursue my passion of teaching. I enrolled in the Masters in Teaching program at the University of South Florida and have never looked back.
Today, I am a K-6 Certified teacher in Tampa, FL. My teaching philosophy is based on the concept of respect – respect for learning, respect for content, and respect for the education process. I love teaching and truly believe that everyone can, and should, teach what they know. You don't have to be a full time teacher to pass along what you've learned.
