Sarah Thornbery

Sarah Thornbery has been the teacher-librarian at Springboro Junior High School in Springboro, Ohio since 2002. In that time, Sarah has modernized the school library and truly made it the hub of the school.

Sarah has been active in her library associations. She served as President of the Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA) in 2010 and served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) from 2013-2015. Sarah and her library have also received many awards. The library of Springboro Junior High School was designated as an OELMA Library of Distinction in 2012. Sarah was awarded the "Leadership in Action" award for library leadership on multiple levels in 2014 and the Follett School Solutions Award for an outstanding school librarian in 2015.

Sarah is truly passionate about library access and teaching the research process. With her background in history, she has introduced many database and research tools for students and teachers to utilize. As a passionate techie, she loves trying out different tech tools that can used in K-12 education.

Sarah lives in Middletown, Ohio with her beagle, Lucy. She loves spending time at her favorite place, Walt Disney World, and visiting with her nephew. She is a fanatical reader of all types of material in the print and digital realms.
