Stona is the author of Give + Take, Printer's Devil, Senseless, and other novels. His books have been published in many foreign editions. And Senseless became a cult classic and a UK feature film. In June, 2014, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will publish his novel Third Rail – the debut novel in a Boston crime/mystery series – under his more dashing pseudonym, Rory Flynn. NBC Universal has optioned Third Rail for television.

In 2008, Stona founded the Concord Free Press, the world's first publisher based on generosity. And it works. CFP books have inspired more than $380,000 in donations to wide-ranging causes and people in need from readers around the world. And created a new publishing model based on generosity.

Stona is on the board of the Associates of the Boston Public Library and a longtime leader and supporter of Gaining Ground. He's fairly convinced that a lot of the people on About.Me are fake because they seem too interesting.

A long time ago, he was in the Boston underground band Scruffy the Cat, which explored the continental United States in a windowless van and supposedly pioneered alt country music. He went to Princeton back before it was so hard to get into. He's from Cincinnati and now lives in Concord, MA with his wife and daughters.
