Like many of you, when I was born, I was very young. Funny, right! Thing is, my earliest memories find me playing in paint, writing songs, poetry and trippy short stories. Voices within would urge me forward smiling, as the paint would slide down the bristles of the brush, onto the handles and around my inexperienced little fingers. Yes, I began my journey in life with a brush in both hands. Covered in paint and relishing the idea that all these colors, somehow, if put in just the right places, would make amazing sense to some people. That this process would break through all racial and language barriers and literally, possess the power to unite the world in harmony. ART! Artist! As sure as the wind is seen shifting sand, I am a true artist. I find an indescribably deep level of passion in writing and an amazingly spiritual connection to painting. I actually do get lost in the canvas. I do find myself there. The ALL of me is there. Inside the painting, I come alive there. I forget to breathe. I forget to eat. I forget to sleep. My spirits, for I feel there are more than a few working within me when I paint. Not all at once, but, different spirits stop in to visit. They leave their special painting, sometimes deep, sometimes dark, sometimes beautiful, sometimes whimsical, but, always interesting. Look for two books I've written and are out in all the online stores right now. "The Secret Path" and "Soul Seeds", were both written and illustrated by me, Stormy Monday. "The Secret Path" was #12 on the Publishers Best Seller list, late 2010. I'm currently doing art showings around America. Right now, it's early June, 2011 and we just completed a Midwest art and book signing tour called "The Visually Engaging Tour". This took us from South Texas, through Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois. A common comment I hear at my showings is, they feel several different artists are showing. I paint in several styles and one of my personal favorites that I've been doing more and more lately is "The Twisted Waterfalls" series. In truth, I give all credit and praise to my One God. He has surely blessed me with these uniquely satisfying gifts and I'm more grateful than many would realize. Throughout life, there are trials and tribulations. It surely makes us who we are.
