All handgun owners are required to have a handgun qualification license (HQL) in Maryland. The HQL includes classroom instruction on state firearm laws, home safety training and more. Each of the four classes below is designed to help you receive your HQL and move forward with the gun ownership process.

Our Defensive Carry Fundamentals is designed to help anyone who is considering owning and carrying a firearm specifically for self-defense purposes. The course helps you to understand conflict avoidance and situational awareness. It also includes basic information on home security and home defense, as well as the basics of operating handguns, shotguns and AR-15s. The course includes information on the legal aspects of using deadly force, and how to react in the aftermath.
