Strange The Butcher

Strange the butcher were formed in March 1989 and named after the butchers shop below the flat they rented.The band started as a four piece then a five piece then back to a four piece until finally an acrimonious split in June 1994.During the six year history the band has had a chequered past including many run-ins with the authorities with the highs and lows being punctuated with various studio and live releases. Band members have come and gone but the ethics of the band remain the same, high energy and sparky mischievous exuberance.
The band split and spread all over the country until Feb 2013 when the Twenty year anniversary of the “Lightweight” ep prompted a reunion.
Three of the band members have reformed and are currently writing new material for forthcoming release and tours. Current members.
