Vernon Leland Curren

Musician for 42 years. Play guitar, bass, alto & bari saxophones. I teach guitar & bass, and am a trained guitar repair technician. Performed & travelled with cover and original rock, metal, & country bands. Have performed on numerous original albums in rock and hip-hop genres, the most recent to be released on the Ichor label Feb. 14, 2013. Currently play in "Direct Energy", a 9 piece band with a 4 piece horn line covering Chicago, Stevie Wonder, Blood Sweat & Tears, Phil Collins, Tower of Power, Toto, Earth Wind & Fire, etc. Raced motorcycles between the ages of 8 and 15, and go karts from 1990 to 1995. Lifelong motorcycle rider, currently own an '86 Yamaha SRX-6, an '02 Yamaha FZ1, and a 1956 Matchless G80CS. Partial list of employment/training include certified welder, CNC operater, ammunition reloading, aircraft fastener mfg., photo finisher, airport caretaker, road musician, factory trained Schwinn mechanic, underground utilities locator, forklift operator, dock worker, auto body repair, retail jewelry sales, and commodities sampler for the Federal Grain Inspection Service.
