Stu Roche

Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States

Outside of my responsibilities in biomedical research, I am the head strength and conditioning coach of the Men's and Women's Rugby teams at the University of Michigan. Since it's inception, I have continued to develop all aspects of the year-round strength and conditioning plan, focusing on reducing the incidence of injury and promoting the enchancement of performance.

The programs of the UMRFC S&C focus on speed and power development through the use of rugby-specific movement patterns and Olympic lifting techniques. Specific energy systems are challenged by concurrently employing high intensity interval training using bodyweight and partner-resisted exercises.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University and will pursue a Masters in Exercsie Physiology in the United States in the fall of 2014.

I am currently certified under national organisations as:

CSCS

USAW-L1

CPR/AED

RFU-L2 Coach
